Bombshell Explosion: Ulysse Nardin Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show – Multi-Year Partnership

When Bombshell and luxury watchmaker Ulysse Nardin first partnered, they had no idea that the relationship would evolve into one marketing spectacle after another. But that’s what makes it all so much fun…

Starting strong

The collaboration between Ulysse Nardin and Bombshell began with Bombshell’s design and build out of the 500-square-foot brand activation within a tower footprint at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS). FLIBS welcomes on average more than 105,000 attendees every year, so Ulysse Nardin wanted to capture their imaginations by creating a custom boutique setting to showcase their Marine and Diver timepiece collections. Bombshell designed and constructed an elegant setting that was strategically located within the show.

Upping the ante

The following year, the challenge was accepted to design and build a VIP chalet for Boca Raton Concours d’Elegance, and another brand takeover of the Captain’s Quarters building at FLIBS. Both environments evoked Ulysse Nardin’s iconic connection to the sea with floor-to-ceiling graphics, design foundations in navy blue, highlighted with wood stained slat walls. No detail was overlooked. Guests opened sliding doors with branded door pulls, and furnishings were reminiscent of those found on a private yacht.

Interactive immersion

In the third year of their partnership, Bombshell and Ulysse Nardin updated the brand with fresh design concepts executed for FLIBS, the Miami Yacht Show, and Watches and Wonders.

The multi-faceted experiences featured not only the client’s signature graphic elements, which included a Great White shark floating down a cityscape, but also live demonstrations of expert craftspeople at work. Video presentations, light boxes and product displays provided multiple opportunities for consumer engagement, while private meeting areas and secure storage made the space functional and comfortable for VIPs and staff.
