AutoNation and Bombshell are teammates in the fight against breast cancer, as evidenced by three years of visual, interactive, and amazing AutoNation Cure Bowls. AutoNation Cure Bowls combined football passion, breast cancer education, and car love to create an Orlando Citrus Bowl tailgate experience with heart. Bombshell colored the experiences pink, so that every guest knew they were enjoying life, while saving lives.
Bombshell’s vision and execution were rewarded with three Silver ADDY® Awards for Out-Of-Home & Ambient Media – Event, Cross Platform – Integrated Branded Content Campaign, and Out-Of-Home & Ambient Media Installations. The AutoNation Cure Bowl also received a Gold ADDY® Award for Elements of Advertising – Art Direction.
When the 400-plus guests arrived via Bombshell’s transportation logistics, they were welcomed inside the 60’x 90’ VIP AutoNation tent, which was outfitted with customized graphics — up, down, and all around – from the 17-foot flags and gridiron-styled turf flooring to the AutoNation-branded race cars and vehicles, flanking the entrance.
In total, more than 170 physical prints were produced on a variety of substrates, including paper, cloth, mesh, RTA vinyl, coroplast, heat transfer, and styrene, with the largest visual element being 700 linear feet of branded fence wrap to designate the event area and advertise the bowl game.
Bombshell blanketed the Camping World Stadium with whimsical, branded souvenirs and football-inspired gifts. Every element was emblazoned with a sponsored or charitable message. Giveaways included signature pink pom-poms, logoed mini-football helmets, pink mini-footballs, and megaphones.
The AutoNation Cure Bowl logo was incorporated into oversized football jerseys that were suspended from the ceiling; branded, interactive photo stations; and play areas that featured branded cornhole, a pink-pong table, and a custom created coloring wall. No surface was left untouched. Even the carpet, table linens, and centerpieces contributed to the overall effect. Each year, Bombshell added something new.
Bombshell made sure that each AutoNation Cure Bowl ended on a high note – literally. The spirited, three-hour events culminated with tailgate concerts, managed by Bombshell, featuring rising stars from the country and pop music scenes. The stages were outfitted with a 15’ x 30’ printed mesh backdrop flanked by 6’ x 20’ sponsor graphics. Joe Nichols and Jana Kramer performed one year, and Eli Young Band performed the following year. Most recently, musician Andy Grammer, whose tour was sponsored by AutoNation, took the stage.
A special feature at the Cure Bowl was AutoNation’s 1961 vintage Shasta camper, which was on display as an interactive photo booth, along with 10 supersized quilts created by volunteers around the country to honor breast cancer survivors.
